Speed corrected using Cool Edit Pro:
- joined wavs using 'Open Append'
- speed/pitch adjusted using 'Pitch Bender'
- removed small gaps at the end of discs 2 and 3 to make disc transitions seamless again.
- encoded to FLAC (level 8) using Flac Frontend
The proper pitch was determined by comparing to a guitar tuned to A=440.
The adjustment required was -28 cents for the entire show.
The original source had the first song of set 2 (Loose Lucy) tracked on the end of disc 1 with set 1 for no apparent reason. It fits easily on disc 2 with the other set 2 material, so it's been moved there, which is better imo, but it can easily be burned either way. The only problem with the new tracking was that all of the artworks around for this show reflected the old tracking, so I made a revised version of one of the best ones to match the new tracking: gd061874Cover-revised.pdf & gd061874tray-revised.pdf in the 'covers' folder.

Subject: I got No Chance of losing..
By the time they do the 2nd Set by request El Paso
everything is just coming up Roses
Listen to the jamming in El Paso
The Row Jimmy is tender dare I say sacred.
p.s. Thank You Donna Jean!
The boys couldn't have got down and rowed without ya...
And no words do justice to the music that follows.
Subject: Sounds better than the CM source
This show contains what many say is the best "Weather Report Suite." I'd have to agree. The whole Jam from LIG>The Other One is entirely captivating.
I love a show when everyone clambers about musically ... but in harmonic union (so to speak)..... like my head .... if i could be so lucky
Oh yea.... why I am writing... got a nasty prognosis the other day ... figured I would go through the boxes of shit I have been holding onto for years .... trying to practice vida pura karma ...y'know?
I open the first damn box and find the cassettes I had on my '04-'05 vegabond journey across the country.... given to me by that Dead head in Santa Fe ...
I listened to them son-o'-bitches in alot of bus stations ... Looking at them now, these things look like some raggedy-ass cassettes ... I couldn't remember a date (except the PizzaTapes) if you paid me ... But here they is ... with dates ... I am finally gonna listen to good versions of these shows ...
To the universal DeadHead collectively manifesting itself among and through ourselves ... Travel on bro' and sis' ... Or as has been said ...
"C'mon in .... The waters fine"
Damn...Living is great ... ain't it?

Classic 74' Soundboard
I highly recommend adding this show to your 1974 GRATEFUL DEAD Collection.
The sound guys dial in the mix during the first song. Beware.
Convinced of economic security the GRATEFUL DEAD perform befor a sold out crowd at Freedom Hall.
Enjoyable live performances of our favorite songs from 1974.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Listen to the GRATEFUL DEAD.
Thanks for the love from so long ago in 1974.
Subject: one for the ages
one of the best Eyes ever played. one of the best WRS>Let it Grow ever played. top that off with one of the best Dews ever (as an ENCORE, no less!!!) and well, by now I think I don't even need to mention anything else in the show to prove my point: if you have not heard this show, you need to do so. period.
Subject: layers and layer
I started with Eyes, and the boys just individually head off into different directions making this beat box sound that is so f---ing congruent... and pure. So many layers. Billy beating perfectly, Phil bumping flipantly, Keith hammering, Bob & Jerry doing what they do best -- this is the Dead. And that's why they make me so happy!!!!
ahh pure bliss.
